About the coast of Boca del Río

Boca del Río lies on the Gulf of Mexico coast, at the mouth of the Jamapa River, south of the city of Veracruz, with which it forms a single urban area. The municipality has 12 km of coastline, with beaches such as Santa Ana, Mocambo, La Bamba, Pelícano and Gaviota. At Punta Mocambo, the beach is generally long and stable, with fine sand. Off its coast, and off those of Veracruz and Alvarado, lies the Parque Nacional Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano, decreed in 1992.
