Playa Mocambo is an urban beach in Boca del Río, in the metropolitan area shared with the port of Veracruz, along the coastal boulevard, about 8 km south of the port's center. It has calm to moderate waves and is the main family beach of the metropolitan area. It gives its name to the Mocambo area, where one of Mexico's first large beach hotels opened in 1939 on a hill facing the sea. It is one of the five beaches the municipality lists along its 12 km of coastline.
