What Playas Hoy is

Playas Hoy gathers public data from official sources and from weather and ocean models, and sums it up in an assessment for each beach. It is reference information, free and with no sign-up.

It does not replace official warnings

Playas Hoy is not an authority or an alert service. For any warning from Civil Protection, the Mexican Navy (SEMAR), the National Weather Service (SMN) or another authority, and for instructions from lifeguards and beach flags, always follow the authority.

Sea conditions change quickly and may differ from what the site shows.

Accuracy of the data

The data comes from third parties and may be delayed, contain errors or be missing. When a source does not respond, the site shows "no data" instead of a value.

To the extent permitted by law, GTM Labs does not guarantee that the information is complete, accurate or current, and is not liable for decisions made based on it.

Sources and credits

Each piece of data keeps its source's license. The sources, their licenses and the credits they require are described on the methodology page.

Affiliate links

Some pages may include links to accommodation booking sites, such as Booking.com. If you book through one of them, GTM Labs may receive a commission from the partner site, at no extra cost to you.

Commissions do not influence the assessment of the beaches, which depends only on the data from the sources.

Intellectual property

The texts, design and the Playas Hoy brand belong to GTM Labs. Reproduction, in whole or in part, is not allowed without prior written permission. Each source's data is governed by its own licence.

The processing of personal data is described in the privacy notice.

These terms may change; the version in force is the one published on this page.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States.
