Playa Tumbao is an urban beach in Boca del Río, in the metropolitan area shared with the port of Veracruz, beside Boulevard Miguel Alemán, in the area of the municipal seat. Like the rest of the area's urban shoreline, it generally has low waves, except during the season of nortes (winter northerly storms), and it is one of the beaches COFEPRIS monitors in the municipality.
