Playa La Bamba is an urban beach in Boca del Río, in the metropolitan area shared with the port of Veracruz, along Boulevard Manuel Ávila Camacho. It is the first, from north to south, of the boulevard stretch that continues through Pelícano and Gaviota. It has breakwaters and generally calm waves; when the sea gets rough, local surfers come out. It is one of the five beaches the municipality lists along its 12 km of coastline. Offshore lies the Parque Nacional Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano.
