Stretch of beach in downtown Playa del Carmen, north of Avenida Constituyentes and its pier. The sand is fine, with some exposed limestone. Like the rest of the Playa del Carmen shore, it is sheltered from the open sea by the island of Cozumel, so the waves are usually gentle, although storms can bring strong currents.
