Public beach in downtown Playa del Carmen, next to Parque Fundadores, where Quinta Avenida meets the sea, and a few steps from the pier where the ferries to Cozumel depart. It is the most central beach in the city and the southern end of the main beach, which runs north to Avenida Constituyentes. Like the rest of the Playa del Carmen shore, it is sheltered from the open sea by the island of Cozumel, so the waves are usually gentle, although storms can bring strong currents.
