About Playa Pelícanos

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

Public beach in the northern part of downtown Playa del Carmen, which the municipality fitted out as an inclusive beach, with ramps, a walkway onto the sand, a tactile path, a haptic map and sign-language signage. This stretch of coast is also known as Chunzubul, like the long, shallow Playa del Carmen reef that divers explore. Like the rest of the city's shore, it is sheltered from the open sea by the island of Cozumel, so the waves are usually gentle, although storms can bring strong currents.
