About Playa La Ropa

Playa La Ropa is on Zihuatanejo Bay, a few minutes from downtown, and is more than a kilometer long, with little surf. According to tradition, its name comes from a colonial-era merchant ship that sank offshore: the fabrics and garments in its cargo washed up on the sand. Restaurants and hotels line the shore, and water sports equipment is available for rent. It draws mostly families.
