San Benito is a small coastal settlement in the municipality of Dzemul, on the northern coast of Yucatán, on the coastal road from Progreso to Telchac Puerto, between Chicxulub Puerto and Telchac Puerto, about 60 kilometers from Mérida. Together with Xtampú and San Bruno it makes up the municipality's roughly 18 kilometers of beach, which end at San Benito, by the salt flats. It is an area of vacation homes, with fine, light-colored sand and low to moderate waves.
