Beach in Puerto Peñasco northwest of Cerro de la Ballena (Whale Hill), the volcanic hill where the port began. It lies on the stretch of sand that starts at Playa Hermosa and runs northwest, through Sandy Beach, to Cholla Bay (La Choya). Its waters are generally calm. The tides are wide: sea level rises and falls several meters. Like the rest of Puerto Peñasco, it draws mostly visitors from Arizona and California who drive down from the border.
