Beach southeast of the town of Golfo de Santa Clara, in the municipality of San Luis Río Colorado, at Punta Machorro, a point of flat rocks. It lies at the foot of the El Machorro dune, about 50 meters high, the tallest in the area, a favorite of off-road enthusiasts and topped by a lighthouse. It is at the northern tip of the Gulf of California, in the Colorado River delta area, protected since 1996 by the Alto Golfo de California y Delta del Río Colorado Biosphere Reserve. The tides are very wide, several meters. Surf is usually moderate.
