About Playa Campo Rubens
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
Beach on the northern edge of the town of San Felipe, on the Gulf of California, a little over a kilometer north of the Malecón. It takes its name from one of the beach camps opened in the 1960s, when San Felipe began drawing visitors. Like the rest of the bay, it has very large tides: at low tide the sea pulls back a long way and exposes the sandy bottom. Waves in the northern gulf are usually minimal, with no strong shore break.
