About Playa Tlacopanocha

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

Playa Tlacopanocha is a small beach, about 100 meters long, beside the malecón and Avenida Costera Miguel Alemán, a short walk from Acapulco's zócalo, in the Acapulco Tradicional zone. It lies inside the bay, sheltered from the open sea, and has little surf. It is a busy fishing beach, with boats on the shore, and sport-fishing yachts can be seen coming in from it. According to tradition, its name combines 'tlaco', an old coin, and 'panocha', a sweet once sold there by Indigenous vendors. The Paseo del Pescador links it on foot with Playa Manzanillo.
