About Playa Caleta

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

Playa Caleta sits at the southern end of Acapulco Bay, on the peninsula where Avenida Costera Miguel Alemán begins, in the Acapulco Tradicional zone. A small islet separates it from neighboring Caletilla, and Isla La Roqueta, just offshore, shelters it from the open sea, so its surf is usually very low. Caleta and Caletilla were among the first beaches tourists chose in the port and remain among the best known. Boats leave from here for La Roqueta, some with glass bottoms, passing the submerged statue of the Virgen de los Mares. It draws mostly families.
