Playa Puerto Marqués is the main beach on the bay of the same name, southeast of Acapulco Bay, in the Acapulco Diamante zone. The bay, sheltered from the open sea and with generally calm waters, is formed by Cerro El Guitarrón, with its La Bruja point, and El Diamante point to the south; Majahua and Pichilingue beaches are also on it. It is reached by the Carretera Escénica, which has lookouts over the bay. It is a narrow beach, a traditional favorite of Acapulco's own residents, with fish and seafood restaurants along the shore and boats for bay tours and water sports.
