Playa Papagayo is one of the stretches of the long beach that continues from Hornos along Acapulco Bay, beside Avenida Costera Miguel Alemán. It faces Parque Papagayo, a large city park with artificial lakes and green areas that occupies the grounds of a former Hotel Papagayo, one of the port's early hotels. It is a central urban beach, easy to reach from the avenue.
