Playa Bahamita is on Isla del Carmen, about 15 kilometers from Ciudad del Carmen along Federal Highway 180, on the Gulf of Mexico side. It is a stretch of about two kilometers of white sand and gentle waves, with little development around it. Between June and November the sand gets covered with small shells. The island is part of the Laguna de Términos Flora and Fauna Protection Area.
