Playa Puerto Real is at the northeastern tip of Isla del Carmen, next to where the Puente de la Unidad starts across to Isla Aguada. It is a beach of about 500 meters with a very gentle slope, on the Gulf of Mexico side. The island is part of the Laguna de Términos Flora and Fauna Protection Area.
