About Playa Isla Aguada

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

Isla Aguada is a fishing town in the municipality of Carmen, on the peninsula that separates Laguna de Términos from the Gulf of Mexico, facing Isla del Carmen; the Puente de la Unidad, about 3.2 kilometers long, connects it to the island. Its beach faces the Gulf. The town has a lighthouse from 1907, and fishermen's boats leave from the shore to watch dolphins in the lagoon. It has been a Pueblo Mágico since 2020 and is part of the Laguna de Términos Flora and Fauna Protection Area.
