About Playa Maracaibo
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
Playa Maracaibo is a small coastal community in the municipality of Nautla, very close to the municipal seat, at the southern end of the Costa Esmeralda, the beach corridor between Nautla and Tecolutla. It is a beach open to the Gulf of Mexico, with fine sand, shallow water and generally gentle waves, where traditional fishing takes place. During the winter nortes the waves become rough. The name refers to the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo, although its origin is uncertain.
