About Playa Chen Río

Beach on Cozumel's east coast, about 25 km from downtown San Miguel along the coastal road. That shoreline faces the open sea with no reef to shelter it, but at one end of Chen Río a shallow pool forms, separated from the sea by a rim of rocks that breaks the waves. It is a gathering spot for island families, especially on weekends. Its name comes from a river inland.
