Beach inside Parque Chankanaab, at km 9 of the southern coastal road on Cozumel's west coast, the leeward side, which usually has calmer water than the east side. The park surrounds a coastal lagoon of coral origin, which gives it its Maya name ("small sea"), and has a reef a few meters from shore, which draws divers and snorkelers. It lies within the Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Cozumel, decreed in 1996, which protects the reefs of the island's south end. Access to the beach is through the park.
