About Playa Sayulita

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

The main beach of Sayulita, a coastal town in southern Nayarit, in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas, named a Pueblo Mágico in 2015. It is known as the cradle of surfing in Nayarit: surfers have come since the 1960s, and there are waves for beginners near shore and for experienced surfers farther out. The beach is long, with a busy central stretch of surf schools and restaurants and a quieter northern section. The town grew with the Las Varas-Puerto Vallarta highway, opened in the 1960s.
