About Playa Borrego
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
A long, wide beach just over a kilometer south of downtown San Blas, with about 3 km of sand lined with palm trees. At its southern end the El Pozo estuary meets the sea, surrounded by mangroves. It is the beach closest to town, with seafood enramadas, and it draws families and beginner surfers. Because of the nearby mangroves, no-see-ums (jejenes) and mosquitoes are common at dawn and dusk.
