Puerto Vallarta's best-known beach, in the Zona Romántica (Old Vallarta), south of the Cuale River and the Malecón. It is about 630 meters long, from Olas Altas (Calle Francisca Rodríguez) in the north to El Púlpito in the south. Its waves are usually not big. It is home to the Los Muertos pier, opened in 2013, free to walk and a departure point for water taxis and trips to the beaches on the south side of the bay. It is popular with families, locals and foreign visitors, and with the LGBT+ community.
