Fine-sand beach with generally calm waves on Santiago Bay, in Manzanillo, about a kilometer from the town of Santiago, next to the Santiago peninsula; it is also known as "el muelle" (the pier). The old port of Santiago de la Buena Esperanza, linked to Hernán Cortés's expeditions, stood here. It is a family beach, with gear rentals, boat tours of the bay and hotels nearby. Olas Altas, Miramar and La Boquita are close by.
