Urban beach in front of downtown Rosarito, seat of the municipality of Playas de Rosarito, on the Pacific coast about 16 km south of the US border. It is part of a long, open-ocean stretch of sand, near the city pier. Rosarito is known for its big waves, which draw surfers. It draws visitors from both sides of the border and hosts beach volleyball and surf events.
