About Playa Coromuel

City beach at the northern end of the La Paz malecón, on the road to Pichilingue; it is the closest beach to downtown and one of the busiest with local families. According to local tradition, its name comes from a ship called the Cromwell that anchored in the bay in the early 19th century, whose name was Hispanicized as Coromuel. Its waters are usually calm; kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkeling are practiced here.
