Playa Galindo is one of the named sections of the continuous fine-sand beach, about 42 km long, on the Tuxpan coast in northern Veracruz; it lies between Playa Azul and Playa San Antonio, and should not be confused with Playa Barra Galindo, about 5 km farther north. The Tuxpan beaches begin about 11 km from the city center. Local guides describe this coast as having calm waves and shallow water, although during the nortes, in the cold-front season, the waves can run high.
