About Playa Barra Galindo
By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated
Playa Barra Galindo is one of the named sections of the continuous beach, about 42 km long, on the Tuxpan coast, about 15 km north-northeast of the city. It takes its name from the Barra de Galindo, a former inlet of the Tamiahua lagoon that closed as it silted up. Local guides describe this coast as having calm waves and shallow water, although during the nortes, in the cold-front season, the waves can run high. Off the Tuxpan coast lies the Tuxpan section of the Sistema Arrecifal Lobos-Tuxpan flora and fauna protected area, decreed in 2009.
