Beach of Isla Cortés, also known as Nuevo Altata, on the Lucenilla peninsula in the municipality of Navolato, near the town of Altata. The peninsula has a long beachfront on the Gulf of California. On the Altata bay side the water is calm and sheltered; the gulf front is open sea. Much of the area is a private residential and marina development with controlled access.
