The beach of the El Novillero ejido, in the municipality of Tecuala, at the northern end of the Nayarit coast, about 23 km west of the municipal seat. It sits on a barrier strip separated from the mainland by the La Barra channel, crossed by a bridge. It is a very long, wide beach with a gentle slope, promoted as one of the longest in the country. Its waves are usually calm and the water is shallow near shore. Nearby, the Acaponeta River reaches the sea and the Agua Brava lagoon, a fishing and shrimping area, is surrounded by mangroves and palms.
