About Playa Las Peñas

By Equipe editorial GTM Labs · Updated

Open-ocean beach about 1.2 kilometers long, with golden sand, on the coast of the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, about 37 kilometers from the city via Federal Highway 200. It is known for three large rock formations off the shore, said to look like a monkey, a crowned king and an Aztec emperor. Its surf is usually strong, and it draws surfers and photographers; there are no formal services on the shore. The annual Convivencia Turística Las Peñas festival is held here.
