Beach in front of the town of Los Barriles, at the head of Bahía de Las Palmas on the Gulf of California, next to Federal Highway 1, about 105 kilometers south of La Paz and 64 kilometers north of San José del Cabo. Thanks to the north wind that blows from November to March, it is one of Mexico's best-known windsurfing and kiteboarding destinations; the area is also known for sportfishing.
